Three ways to contribute

What we ask of alumni

Light commitments. Big compounding effect. Pick whichever (or all three) fit your week.

Mentor a medic

One pairing per year. Two coffees, occasional WhatsApp answers. We match by specialty interest — paeds, surgery, GP, psych, medicine, O&G.

Most common contribution

Speak at an event

45 minutes once a year. We run a panel night each term — your specialty, your route into it, your honest take. Students remember these for years.

1–2 hours / year

Host an elective

Take a CMM student on an elective placement or shadow week at your trust. We handle the paperwork — you just say yes.

1–4 weeks · summer

Why we built this

CMM alumni are scattered now — across Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, London, the Midlands, and a few abroad. The network keeps the thread.

When you sign up, you join a private WhatsApp by specialty and an opt-in mentorship pool. Nothing is public. We never share details outside the society.

Private & confidential. No public directories. Your details stay with the alumni officer.

Geography-aware. We connect alumni in the same trust or deanery — useful for referrals, advice, the practical stuff.

Specialty-matched. Mentorship pairings by chosen field — paeds to paeds, surgery to surgery.

Lightweight. One annual reunion, opt-in everything else. No spam.

Faith-rooted. Built on the principle of mutual support among Muslim medical professionals.
