Terms of use
The basics of using this site, in plain English.
Last reviewed 13 October 2026.
Who we are
This site is operated by Rayyan Malik, acting for Cardiff Muslim Medics, contactable at cardiffmuslimmedics@gmail.com. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Donations
A gift to the Alumni Fund is a donation to Cardiff Muslim Medics, used to support Muslim medical students at Cardiff as described on the fund page. We do not take a platform fee or a booking fee, and we do not add anything on top of the amount you choose.
Please only give money that is yours to give, from a card you are entitled to use. If you set up a recurring gift you can stop it at any time, as set out in our refund policy.
The Alumni Map, and treating people well
The map exists so students and juniors can find people a few steps ahead of them. Add yourself only with details you are happy to be public, and keep them roughly accurate.
If you contact someone through the map, it is for genuine questions about training, placements and the profession. Do not use it to advertise, to recruit, to sell anything, to send bulk messages, or to contact someone again after they have asked you not to. We can remove anyone from the map and block access to the relay if it is misused.
Advice you submit
When you share advice, you are letting us publish it on this site, edit it lightly for length and clarity, and keep it up while it is useful. Please write from your own experience, do not identify patients or colleagues, and do not give clinical advice.
We review everything before it appears and we may decline to publish. Ask and we will take yours down.
Using the site properly
Please do not:
- try to break into any part of the site, or into anyone else’s account
- scrape or harvest details from the Alumni Map, by hand or automatically
- scrape, copy or republish our content in bulk without asking
- upload anything unlawful, abusive, or designed to cause harm
- pretend to be someone else, or submit advice or messages in someone else’s name
Our content, and what you can do with it
The text, design, logo and original graphics on this site belong to Cardiff Muslim Medics. You are welcome to read and share our material for your own study or for teaching, with credit. You may not present it as your own work or sell it.
Advice and quotes from members remain theirs, and are published here with their permission.
General information, not professional advice
What you read here, including advice from alumni, is personal experience offered in good faith. It is not professional medical, legal, financial or careers advice, and it is not a substitute for your medical school’s or employer’s official guidance.
What we do and do not promise
We run this site carefully but voluntarily, around clinical work and study. We do not promise it will always be available, always be up to date, or be free of mistakes. We correct things when we find out about them, so please tell us.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Beyond that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Governing law, and changes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
